California

For Christmas break we decided that it would be fun to go to California for a few days. Plan of action: go to the beach (multiple beaches) and hit up Disneyland. The first night in California we stayed with Kinsey's aunt Lisa and uncle Jim who live on the beach (and that doesn't mean a mile walk to the beach, it means like 50 feet off the sand!)

Kinsey and her cousin Sophie

The next day we decided to go to Disneyland.

As you can see, we were the only two people that thought that the week before
Christmas would be a great time to go to Disneyland

Disney Castle all winterized

It's a Small World was covered in Christmas lights

Long story short 12 hours at the park and we rode a grand total of 10 rides. . . BLAH!

Still, we had a great time and enjoyed the much needed break from school and work! I would call the trip a success!

"Going Green"

So I decided I hate taking the time to update this blog but I still look at my family's blogs hoping that they posted something new so I guess I can do a quick post.
Since Kinsey and I have been married we have been renting a house from my Dad and Step-Mom. The house is in great condition and they just replaced the carpet so we were excited to make it our own with paint and decorations (well, Kins was concerned about the decorations anyway) :) Our first big project was to re-paint the kitchen. What color was decided on?... GREEN. Definitely not the color I would have chosen first but, after some convincing, I gave in and I am actually quite pleased with how it turned out.

Take a look:

Before pictures (well, sort of, I remembered to do this after we had already started the project):

A few shots of us working:

And some after shots:

(These towels are now a tan color and the red blender
is now a silver one so the kitchen matches better)

The Passing of a Torch

November 19th, 2011 was a bittersweet day. Why? You may ask. Because I went to the final home BYU Football game of my college career. I know, I know. . . what could be sweet about that?

Well . . . While this was my final home game this was Shane's very first one! He was super excited to go and I am pretty sure he loved it! (even though I ignored all of his "I could sure use a souvenir to remember my first game by" comments as we passed every concession stand in the stadium.)

Into the 21st Century

So here it is... the first official post to our blog! I love to read my sister Carmen's and Kinsey's mom's blog but I was never going to actually do one myself! So naturally I told Kinsey she should do one for us... after she laughed and turned my offer down I figured I could throw a few boring posts together occasionally so Carmen can see what we are up to, along with some projects I do around the house.

So the first great news is Kinsey and I got the new iPhone! It is amazing! I knew I should have never gotten a smart phone because I don't know if I could give this up now. It does everything, I am pretty sure I will never have to actually use my brain ever again. Now all I need to do is find an app that will do my homework for me!
